BUS TOURS

(All tours leave from Deere-Wiman House parking lot at intersection of 8th Street and 11th Avenue, Moline, IL)

FIELD OF DREAMS / DYERSVILLE
Father's bring your sons, Mother's bring your daughters, Grandparent's bring everyone to the most famous "ball diamond" in the world, located in Dyersville, Iowa. Also bring your baseball glove to play catch with, or possible play in a pick up game. Maybe "Shoeless Joe Jackson" will pick the sides, and don't forget your camera to record your presence at this historic movie site. Also you can visit the Dyersville Historical Society at the "Dyer-Botsford Victorian House" which houses over 1000 dolls. The National Farm Toy Museum has 30,000 farm toy collectables and for a complete cultural experience, view the famous Saint Francis Xavier Basilicas, a twin spired church with 64 windows...."Dutch Lunch" in a barn, the "Country Junction Restaurant".

DUBUQUE RIVER MUSEUM
Dubuque is one of the oldest and unique city's in Iowa, and the National Mississippi Museum & Aquarium is the finest museum of its kind between Chicago and Denver. Its exhibits are housed and developed on the same basis as those in the Smithsonian Institute in Washington D.C. If your children or grandchildren have not been privileged to view this aquarium and river, they have missed a truly great educational adventure! We will tour down town Dubuque, stopping at the "Visitors Center" and "Cable Car" square before spending the majority of the time at the "National Museum". The historical Dubuque Boat Works are featured in the "Ice Harbor" exhibits, including a walking tour of the "W.W. Black". Cost: $ 49

LINCOLN MEMORIAL LIBRARY
Visit the new Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library & Museum in Springfield, Illinois, to discover new and interesting displays about our 16th president. This new facility has the latest in the "state of arts" historical displays. A limited supply of wheel chairs are available on a first- come, first-served basis. You may also visit the Union Station Visitors center, just across from the museum, and the bus will travel by Lincoln's Springfield home. Dutch lunch at the museum or your choice. This is now one of the finest Presidential Museums in the United States. Cost: $59

ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL TOUR
A major part of the history of the Quad Cities and of Iowa and Illinois centers on the largest island of the Mississippi, the Rock Island Arsenal. Relive and learn the fascinating history as we visit the Corps of Engineers Center, the Davenport House, the John Browning Museum and the site of the infamous Northern prison camp of the Civil War and many other points of interest including the site and history of the first bridge across the Mississippi. (2006 is the 150th anniversary of this event.) Lunch on your own. Cost: $25
